Ballard Shines on the API!
Ballard Students Shine on API (933)!!
Last spring, all students in grades 2 – 6 took the California STAR assessment. As usual, Ballard students impressed with their performance! The students' individual scores are combined to yield one school score called the Academic Performance Index (API). You may recall that the API is one measure of a school’s success on the California. The API range is 200 – 1000, with a ‘target’ of 800.

Ballard's score of 933 is…

- the highest API of all schools in the Santa Ynez Valley!
- the 5th highest school API in Santa Barbara County!
- one of the highest API scores in the state of California!

Congratulations to all of our students, families, and staff!
This continues to show that hard work...works!!

bottom bottom bottom
Ballard School is located in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley on the central coast of California in Santa Barbara County. This public school teaches students from kindergarten to 6th grade. In the early days, since the schoolhouse was the only public building in the valley, it was often used for church services, weddings, funerals and the meeting place of the Good Templar Lodge and the Farmer's Alliance. It also has served as the site for lectures, social entertainment, lively debates, singing and Saturday night dances.

If you have a great story to tell about Ballard School or old time photos you would like to share, please email us and we can include it on our website. We want to preserve the history of our fabulous school.
